A day in the life of a pug in Portland's Pearl District. "Dogs have given us their absolute all. We are the center of their universe. We are the focus of their love and faith and trust. They serve us in return for scraps. It is without a doubt the best deal man has ever made." - Roger Caras

Pug Pile!

Pug in a Pile! Posted by Picasa

Sigmund's favorite way to spend Sundays - At Lexi Dog!
We seriously can't even walk past without him going crazy to get inside! Lately, there have been about a dozen or more pugs! It's so cute to see them all play together. It's like they know their own kind! It's hard to tell - but Sigmund is in the middle of that Pug Pile! He loves to play chase. It doesn't matter if he's the chaser or the chasee, as long as he's running. He'll get so tired, but he just can't stop! He's definitely a dog's dog.

The other picture is from Pug in the Park. Once a month, Portland pug owners get together in the park to play. Sigmund loves it - but he often plays with all the un-pugs there. I think the other pugs are too fat and slow for him! Everyone there always says he's fast, for a pug! That's Sigmund - light on his feet! Let's just say after two pug parties Sunday - he's beat!

For all pug lovers... Check out this website. It's all the pugs from the Westminster Dog Show.

Pug Back With His Pack!

Sigmund's Brother - Leroy!!!!
(The one above is Sigmund and Leroy when they were puppies!)

Sigmund and I met his brother "Leroy," last week and wanted to share him with all of you!

He's a total love pug - so soft and sweet! The funny thing... when I finally decided I was getting a Pug back in August - I saw Leroy's picture and wanted him. So we set off thinking we'd be coming home with Leroy. But when we got there - I fell in love with Sigmund and he fell in love with me!!!! So I picked him instead! (now - I just wish he had a bit of his brother's mellow personality!)

Small world - even though Sigmund's from the coast... his brother is here in Portland, too! We met at Lexi Dog after I was oohing and ahhing over how cute Leroy was. His owner and I put two and two together and figured out they're from the same litter! I think I'm the only one who cares it's his brother - Sigmund seems uninterested. How strange - dog's don't know their families.

Ok - so do you need a laugh? Check out this link with pugs in hats!

Pug Around Portland

Check out Sigmund's new set-up on my bike!
He rode 23 miles Sunday - around Portland - and never complained a bit!
We took Sigmund on "The Worst Day of the Year," Ride, (only it was sunny) and he loved it! Patrick created this new rack for my bike so Sigmund could go with me... don't worry, he's harnessed in. Let's just say he was the total hit of this ride. People could not get over him! Especially because he was so content just to ride along. I must have heard, "ahhhh," "so cute," "that's the best dog ever," about 3 dozen times! The best part - when we went really fast downhill he would stand-up and use his feet to scratch my back! Either he was saying, "go faster," or "slow down, lady!"

Pooped Pug

Pooped Pug Posted by Picasa

He's so tired! This is how Sigmund looks after a day at dog day care. They say he runs the ENTIRE time he's there, leading games of chase. When we take him home, this is the first spot he lands - the chair right next to the door. He won't eat, he won't play, he won't move - he's too pooped! Whenever I need him tired - I make sure he goes to dog day care!

There's some great new pictures on the web of cutie pugs - check out this link: http://www.oregonlive.com/living/photos/dog/. The galleries have some great shots!

Sigmund told me to tell you he's sick and tired of the rain. He can't stand being cooped up all day and says he doesn't like smelling like a wet dog. Pray for sun!
