A day in the life of a pug in Portland's Pearl District. "Dogs have given us their absolute all. We are the center of their universe. We are the focus of their love and faith and trust. They serve us in return for scraps. It is without a doubt the best deal man has ever made." - Roger Caras

Pug on a Hike

Umpqua Trail: Sigmund's mad because he can't go in the hot springs with us!
(But boy, did he need a bath!)
McKenzie River Trail: It's a good thing I had him on leash! He kept pulling me to the edge, wanting to take a big drink out of the raging river!

Pug in a Tent

Wrapped up in sleeping bags... that's pretty much how Sigmund spent much of his time camping.

This pug is not known for wanting to go to bed... but around 7pm every night he would scratch on the outside of the tent... begging to go inside. So, we'd wrap him up in our mummy bags and this is how he would stay until 10am the next morning.

It's fair to say I don't think he really enjoys the cold! The best part - neither do I - and Sigmund makes THE BEST HEATER. I'll share my sleeping bag with him anytime... except when he snores. That's when Patrick got him!

BIG lake, LITTLE pug

Is there any place more awe inspiring than Crater Lake? If so, I haven't seen it... YET!

We learned the hard way, much of Crater Lake is closed until JULY... too much snow. But we still enjoyed the half we got to see. Too bad the boat ride around the lake was closed. I would love to see the view from "down there."

On The Road Again...

Sorry for the delay in posts... Sigmund's been on vacation!

We hit the road, left the city behind and headed straight for the mountains. Lots of camping, hiking, eating bad food, mountain bike riding, eating more bad food and relaxation to be had by all.

Our destinations: Diamond Lake, Crater Lake, Elk Lake and McKenzie River.

Don't worry - we took lots of pictures of Sigmund's adventures all along the way. This one - how he LOVES to ride in the car. The wind in his face with his ears catching all the dirt along the way! He hit a new threshold for speed this trip - 55 mph! (It used to be 35 mph.) Don't worry Ive got a tight grip on his leash and his leg!

Hot Dog

This is how Sigmund handles the heat,
By hogging the fan!
