A day in the life of a pug in Portland's Pearl District. "Dogs have given us their absolute all. We are the center of their universe. We are the focus of their love and faith and trust. They serve us in return for scraps. It is without a doubt the best deal man has ever made." - Roger Caras

Hum?

Hum?
This is the expression Sigmund makes when he's asking a question.
If you sing, he'll tilt his head back and forth really fast like he's so confused!

Ok - so any thoughts on how to save Sigmund's toys? These days he is obsessed with tearing them apart to get to the fiber fill. He then devours the fiber fill (which then poses many problems later on... know what I'm sayin'?)
Poor guy's toy box is getting empty! (ya right!)

Attention all pug owners - you've got to join our meet-up group. We get together once a month and let our pugs all roam around. It's not on the same weekend as "Pug in the Park," so you don't have to worry about any conflictions! Any chance I can wear this little guy out...

Gotta run... Sigmund's just eaten "Rocky" the squirrel's leg off...

Sigmund's Sister... For a Day!

Meet CeCe - or as we named her - Wink!

For a brief few hours - I considered adopting her in to our crowded little family!
(You should have seen Patrick's face when I showed him this picture - he thought I had her hidden somewhere!!!!!)

She's a wonderful black pug... who was rescued from a terrible home.
Don't freak out - but she only has one eye! You can't tell in person until someone points it out. (Hence the name "Wink," because she always looks like she's winking at you!)
As much as Sigmund LOVED her... we decided it was not the right time or place to get another dog! She's going to need a lot of love and attention - and Sigmund already has every ounce of our's. That's ok - families are lined up to get her - so I know she's going somewhere great!

Sig in a Blanket!

Sig in a Blanket! Posted by Picasa

This is how I'll always remember Sigmund during our first camping trip! It was the first time he actually got to sleep with us - because he's normally in his kennel - and because I was so cold and I needed a personal heater! He burrowed way down in the sleeping bag and kept my feet warm.

In the morning - Patrick took him, grudgingly, outside for a little "relief." He was so cold - he refused to go! After being dragged out - all I remember seeing were his paws - frantically scratching on the tent to get back inside... almost like, "Let me in! Let me in!"

Then - he wouldn't get up - so we wrapped him in this blanket and that's where he stayed all morning. Lucky dog!

Sigmund's Si-gar!

Sigmund's "Cigar" Posted by Picasa

This picture cracks me up! Sigmund walks around with his beef stick in his mouth like it's a big ol' cigar. Don't try to take it away either - he won't let you! He puts this in his mouth when he's in the mood to cuddle with you. It's his little hint!

Here's a fun website I found - you can enter your pooch in the "Cutest Dog Contest." Who knows - you may win $5,000. But just an FYI - Sigmund's already entered - so better luck next year! HA HA!
