Why I love my husband...

Here is just one of a thousand reasons why I love my husband. He makes me laugh!

I stole this post from his blog... get past the inside-bike talk and check out the "conversation" he and Sigmund had after riding his new bike.

(Sigmund ran alongside him until he was "Dead Dog" tired!)

I sat down with Sigmund today to answer a few questions about the new ride:
Is it really 21.42 lbs?
P: Yep, I think it may even lighter than Joshua's and 5 pounds lighter than the Epic.
Ok but let's be fair what's with the carbon rigid fork?P: I wanted to build a machine that could attack some of the less technical courses like some of the Bend courses, Ashland and of course short track. I'm waiting to see the reviews of the new FOX shock. The Reba World Cup will only add a hefty 2 pounds to the bike. I may even use it as the B bike in cross or the A bike on some of the more mountain technical courses.
What made you decide to go 29"?
P: I first rode a Fisher 29" in Camel Back Park in Boise ID just when I was getting into racing at a Fisher demo. I immediately noticed how easily it climbed and rolled over obstacles. I borrowed Joshua's a few weeks ago and was instantly hooked. I obsessed about the decision for about a week when T-bone said, "Look man it's just like Warren Miller says, you can wait to get it for a year the only difference will be you'll be 1 year older".
Easy for T-bone to say, what'd it set you back?
P: Uh, children and my wife read this blog I'd rather keep it clean, it would be obscene to say.
So do you think it was worth it?
P: Every penny. It's the most responsive XC bike I've ever ridden. It rails through the corners. It accelerates on climbs like a road bike. Built in America by a gread company. Life time warranty.
What's with you and Stan's wheels?
Wheels or rotating weight seems to be the biggest draw back with 29'rs. This wheelset is light. Stan's Olympic Rims, yellow stans tubeless kit, lot's of alloy, DT Swiss hubs, and Kenda Karma tyres, Stan's rotors fastened with Ti bolts. XTR cassette.
I was reading Kenda's website and they said the Karma's aren't compatible with tubeless systems
P: So you get on the internet while I'm at work huh? That's what Michelin said about the Michelin Mud's, I rocked those all cross season without a single problem. The Kenda's were the lightest tyre (495 g's) I could find that had the tread pattern I wanted. Today in testing I didn't have a single problem. I'm confident my guys know how to set them up. I think the key is the Stan's rim when running tubeless.
Anything else you want to say about this bike?
P: It's a Moots that pretty much sums it up.

Pug = One Letter Away From a Pig!

I often tell this little pug that he is only one letter away from a pig! On Easter, that couldn't have been more appropriate.

Sigmund got his first smell of HAM! It was sitting on the table at Grandma Wilder's and Sigmund was going NUTS! He kept getting up on his hind legs trying to sneak a piece. It didn't help that Grandpa Wilder snuck him a huge slab, creating a MONSTER.

All day, all Sigmund wanted to do was find that ham. I kept locking him up in the house, people kept letting him out, and he kept running right to the table where the ham was sitting. I caught him once with the corner of the tin foil in his mouth getting ready to take off with the whole thing!!!!!

So we hid it inside the house... and guess where he kept sneaking. Everytime the door opened, he was in there! He even tried to crawl UNDER the house to get to it! Little PUGLET!!!

YUM!

Does that face say, "AHHHHH," or what?

Sigmund LOVES getting the peanut butter jar when we're done with it. I think his tongue is adapting to get even farther down inside. That's about the max for him... He can't quite reach the very end.
