Pug in the Pantry

They had a fun weekend of a slumber parties,

field romps,

wrestling around Pamela's apartment,

and the pug crawl!

Let's just say they're both pooped.

Pug Crawl 2006 - a success!

Here are some pictures from the fun event. There were just so many cute pugs - I had to choose just a few!

The Cheshire Pug won first place in the costume contest, but the Geisha Pug wasn't far behind!
Pug owners are so creative! We thought Sigmund and his pal Oliver might have a chance. They were dressed as Court Jesters... and I had Sigmund walk on his hind legs during the parade. The crowd LOVED it! No one else got the cheers he did - but I guess the judges were only going for fashion.

The three pugs are Sigmund and our Lexi Pals - Booker and Brutus!

The little black pug is Tater!!! He's a "pug in the pearl" fan! I said Sigmund's name - and his owners recognized him from the blog!

And - that's Sigmund completely passed out from a day of pug fun. He didn't even make it in the house before he collapsed. A good pug is a tired pug!

Bike races are the whole reason I got Sigmund.

Now I have a pal to keep me company while I cheer on Patrick.

Road Trip!

Sigmund's officially a real dog now!

For a long time - he could care less about sticking his head out the window of the car. HELLO! Don't dogs LOVE that? Well, we took a trip to Bend this weekend and he got so hot... he finally did it! I love the look on his face - pure bliss! Now - if we could just get him to stop barking at everyone we pass.

Sigmund loves to hike - but he HATES the heat! Check out his tongue. Poor guy was soooo hot at Smith Rock. He must have had 2 cups of water - and it wasn't enough. Pugs don't do well when it's hot. After our short walk he climbed in to my lap and slept/panted the whole way home. I think he's still sprawled out and panting even hours later!

Pug lessons we learned this week:

1. Earplugs come out looking the same as they went in.

2. Pugs like fruit, fruit doesn't always like them.

3. One dog - just perfect,

Two dogs - silly fun,

Three dogs - a circus,

Four dogs - CHAOS!

4. Pugs NEVER stop obsessing about food.

5. NOTHING BEATS THIS FACE AFTER A LONG DAY!

Sigmund turned 1 today! We "celebrated" by taking him
to Lexi Dog, where he played with his brother, Leroy, and chased
his pal Oliver.

He also got a little cupcake - it killed him to sit for this picture.
Sigmund could hardly wait to devour the little treat!
(there's his huge tongue again!)

I know, I know... I made him wear that ridiculous party collar.
He hates it - he doesn't even like to go out in public with the on.
When I opened the door - he hung his head in shame!

I can't even believe he only weighed 9lbs at 14 weeks! Now he's a whopping 20lbs.
