Yep - the pug has some mad skillz.

Yep - that's him doing a handstand.

Yep - I know he's funny.

And Yep - I have the best dog-sitter in the world to have captured this moment.

How he "Rolls"

Ok - we are those people.

Sigmund doesn't ride in the car in a kennel.

He doesn't ride in the back seat.

He rides front and center.

If he's not halfway out the window... he's in our laps.

You say, "No" to that face. 

No SUNday at the Beach!

Chasing sand... just like the leaves, Sigmund loves to run, jump and chase sand.  Once it's in his mouth - he can't shake it out fast enough... but keeps going back for more.

The beach seems to be his favorite place in the world.  Even before we get there, he can smell that salt in the air and starts leaning far out the window.

Once he gets those paws in the sand - it's like he's a puppy again!

Going Home

After nine months away... he's almost home.

He seemed to be quite happy to be back... me... I'm still undecided.

Across America Redux - The Badlands are BAD!

Alas, no pugs allowed in the Badlands National Park.
This was Sigmund's view... stuck in the car... as usual.

Why is it National Parks discriminate against four legs?

I understand a few bad dogs can ruin it for the rest of them... but how many people don't go to National Parks because they don't want to leave their dogs in hot cars?

Across America Redux:

I just loved this barn literally in the middle of nowhere in North Dakota.  The grass was just so green... and amazing contrast to the dreary sky.  This is my absolute favorite picture from the entire trip.  I only wish I had removed his leash.

Sigmund quickly grew accustomed to five star hotel living.  Bring on the down comforter.  Makes you think about your next hotel stay, doesn't it!

Across America Redux - Stuck in the car

Just a mere nine months later... we're back in the car and driving back across the country.  This time PDX2NYC photog joined us for a little adventure through the upper midwest.  Sigmund was quite bored by North and South Dakota.

Sigmund was also slightly car sick through Yellowstone... burying his head under the front seat:

On two occasions Sigmund got to ride in a New York City cab.  In true form, he hung out the window to let the wind whip through his ears.  I hung on tight, considering how fast and nutty the cabbie was driving.

Play time in NYC is over.

Back to life in the Pearl.

Sigmund would like me to apologize for not updating his blog since May.

"Work" is getting in the way of all the fun we used to have in the city.

I'll get back on a blogging roll.

Study Buddy

Look at the belly!

Sigmund is such a good study buddy - he keeps me warm and keeps me company while I type away on the computer.

I think he's bored here in NYC.  There's never enough time for play (although we went on a long walk this morning in Riverside Park and played ball for an hour).

Trouble is... life could be worse when I get home!  Back to work means Sigmund is back to being home alone for hours on end each day.  I need a second job so I can send him to doggie day care more often.

DONE!!!!!!

Thanks to Sigmund's help, the thesis/documentary is DONE!!!!!!!

Good thing - he's had it with that thing - and just about had it with school.

Sigmund's developed a new habit.  He seems to want more food.  So instead of politely coming over and asking for more with a sweet stare, he's taken to picking up his bowl, carrying it over and throwing it at me.  I'm not feeding that bad habit!

Hang in There

I finished the writing part of my thesis/documentary!

14,792 words!

Now Sigmund just has to patiently wait out the editing!

Fun with Photoshop

Check out what my Columbia education has allowed me to do!  Play with Photoshop!  We're learning all the tools to make websites and these were a couple practice projects.  The "Royal" one is courtesy of a friend who went crazy with make-up and made Sigmund's nose huge!  I should have told him he couldn't use Sigmund's picture!

I'm taking over the blogging because my mom/owner is always too busy studying to keep all of my fans and friends updated on my life.  She's even putting me to work.  That's her thesis in the background.  I'm in charge of making sure it meets Columbia's academic standards.

Sigmund hates to walk in the snow (especially with all the salt on the sidewalks), but he REFUSES to walk in these shoes. Guess I wasted a wad of money for nothing!

Cyclocross - East Coast Style

While Sigmund enjoys his new (temporary) life in New York, he has missed one thing this fall/winter: watching Patrick race cyclocross!  Lucky for him, Patrick brought cyclocross to Staten Island.  Not only did he race well (2nd), he won the fam some Belgian chocolates!  For the full race report... check out P's blog.

Party Pooper

Sigmund's a party pooper.

First - he didn't want to wear his Christmas sweater and matching scarf.

That's him pouting.

Then - he spent much of the time in my friend's bathtub.

We still can't figure out why.

Missing Christmas in Portland

NYC is quite beautiful at Christmas,

but we miss PDX for the home-y-ness of the holidays.

(This was our tree 2 years ago.  It was bigger and better last year.

Wait until you see the NYC tree!)
